Getting started Instructions

Note: Although I am based in the UK, this web-site and it's services are open for use throughout the world. Please ensure you chose your country of residence when registering.

Creating Topics:

Once you have logged in you may create topics (discussion threads) to do this select from the available Forums listed as demonstrated below marked in RED

Once inside a Forum you can post a new topic (Thread) Click on the 'New Topic' button as shown below:

You may now enter details of new topic (thread) as demonstrated in example below:

Once you have finished entering detail you need to submit the topic. Click on the 'post new topic' button as shown below:

If you now navigate to the topic you created you should see it appear as per example below:


Replying to topics:

To reply to a topic, navigate to the desired topic and click on the 'post reply' button as shown below:

Type in your reply and click on the 'post reply' button as pictured below:



Private Messaging:

This Forum is equipped with a 'private messaging' system which allows users to communicate privately between each other without any other user seeing information being exchanged such as contact details etc.. You can access the PM system in different ways, her are the two main ways of accessing and sending PMs:

When you click on a users name from anywhere in the Forums you will be presented with any details that are contained within their profile. Click the 'PM' button which contains a picture of an envelope located near to the top of the users profile as shown below:

You will immediately be presented with a 'send private message' window:

Once you have typed in all of the information that you would like to send to the user click the 'send private message' button and if desired select the 'email notify me when message is read'

You can also access PM via the top menus within the Forum itself by selecting the 'private messenger' option as shown below:

Once inside the PM system you will see like any other online email system that you have an 'Inbox' and an 'Outbox' as shown below. To send a new message click on the 'new msg' button:

You will now be presented with a 'member search' window. You may input any characters from a users name here and click search.

See example below, we have entered the letters 'it' and clicked search, the system has then returned a list of members with 'it' contained in their username. So even if you only know that a users name starts with a particular letter you can use this search window to find them. If there is more than one user matching your search criteria you can click on the down arrow next to 'select member' to select them. Clcik select once you have located desired user.

The create new message window will open with the username already populated. Again, type in desired text and click on 'send private message' selecting 'email notify me when message is read' if required.

Once the message has been sent you will be presented with a message telling you that your message was sent.

If you receive a PM as a member you will be notified via email to the address you entered at time of registration
